Seat: FC Rapperswil-Jona runs on natural gas

Thanks to Energie Zürichsee Linth AG and Auto Eberle Eschenbach, the eight players of the Promotion League soccer club benefit from company cars in the club colors of red and white. The kickers of the club, which was founded in 1928, can now step on the gas off the pitch without a guilty conscience.
Contribution to more protection of the climate
President Rocco Delli Colli: "The players are very satisfied with the CNG cars and they are also much more aware of their driving habits. With the Seat Arona with CNG drive, we are trying to make our contribution to more climate protection. The players have also started to live more climate-consciously in general."
FC Rapperswil-Jona wants to set an example off the pitch as well. With its 901 members, it is one of the largest soccer clubs in Switzerland - over 500 of whom are juniors. And they now have role models in the 1st team not only in terms of soccer skills and tactical behavior on the pitch, but also in terms of climate protection.
Significant savings in costs
And: In addition to ecological and tax advantages, the TGI technology scores with cost savings of at least 30 percent compared to conventional fuels. And since the footballers only use biogas, they are now almost CO2-neutral on their journeys to training and Promotion League matches. An example that should set a precedent.
