With Android Auto, features and services that Android users are familiar with from their cell phones and tablets can be used in the vehicle in a safe and intuitive way. The range of features includes Google search functions, navigation via Google Maps, Google Play Music and specially adapted apps from third-party providers. What's more, all smartphone-based apps can be controlled by voice control and via the control buttons on the steering wheel. The touchscreen in the center console allows user-friendly operation. Both current vehicle information and Android Auto functions can be displayed there simultaneously. It is not necessary to switch between the two views. Volvo offers Android Auto in a joint option with Apple CarPlay, the counterpart for the integration of the Apple iPhone. This includes an additional USB port in the storage space under the front center armrest, which is used to connect the smartphone to the vehicle system.
