Electrogenic
The Citroën DS, vintage 1971, drives with purely electric drive and, of course, with hydropneumatic suspension.

The English electrification specialist Electrogenic promises to make classic automobiles even better than they were when new with its conversion work. The Oxford-based company has already successfully converted a Triumph Stag and a Morgan model to be locally emission-free.

The most recent example is the legendary DS from Citroën. Here, Electrogenic attached great importance to preserving the famous "magic carpet", i.e. the hydropneumatic suspension. Instead of the original mechanical pump, an electric hydro pump was installed in the Electrogenic DS, which operates significantly quieter.

Range of up to 225 kilometers with 48 kWh battery
To replace the 2-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, an 88-kW electric motor was installed to drive the front wheels via the original transmission. With the energy from the 48-kWh battery, the car offers a range of around 225 kilometers. The battery is said to recharge in around two hours using the integrated 29-kW charger.

Externally, the transformed DS is only recognizable by the new logo "DS EV electronique" and the missing exhaust tailpipe.
