Polestar and musician Moritz Simon Geist have created a new kind of "car music".

Volvo's Swedish electric subsidiary has teamed up with robotics engineer and musician Moritz Simon Geist to create a new kind of music. Geist has made a name for himself by building robots that generate music from unusual sources.

His latest project is to bring the sound of the Polestar 2 to life in an artistic way.

Own soundtrack
Moritz first built robots from car parts. Each robot extracts a sound sample, either from a physical noise or from the constantly changing electromagnetic fields of the installed car electronics. The samples were used to create beats that Moritz captured in an original composition.

Geist's composition was released yesterday and is now available for streaming. The sound sample package is also made available on Polestar.com so that everyone can play with the beats themselves and create their own soundtrack from the sounds of the Polestar 2.

New partnerships
Polestar aims to leverage the interactive concept of collaboration with like-minded people in different fields. Cultural creators and challengers are to be addressed - people who are reshaping society and pushing boundaries in art and technology.

Many of the sounds that made up the song are specific to electric cars. With the Harman Kardon audio system and lower noise and vibration levels compared to internal combustion cars, the Polestar 2 is a perfect listening booth.
