32 men and women will compete in the Red Bull X-Alps 2021 adventure race, which will demand everything of them.
Land Rover looks back on more than seven decades of adventure and expedition experience. This makes the British company the perfect partner for the Red Bull X-Alps 2021. During the twelve-day tour, participants will have to prove themselves in mountain hiking, ultra long-distance running, mountaineering and paragliding.
Swiss Christian Maurer is part of the team
Six-time winner Christian Maurer from Switzerland is part of Team Land Rover and is already contesting his preparations with Defender as a strong partner. The brand provides a fleet of Defender 110 as the official vehicle partner of the event.
Route leads over 1200 kilometers through the Alps
The vehicles ensure reliable transport of people and material at the event, which starts with the prologue on June 17 and the competition in Salzburg on June 20. Until July 2, 32 extreme athletes - women and men from all over the world - will compete in the grueling adventure race, which covers more than 1200 kilometers through the Alps. On a typical day, participants gain around 5000 meters of altitude and burn around 6000 calories.
Really tough challenge for man and car
The Defender not only rolls parallel to the route of the adventure race, it also offers athletes and crew members a comfortable place to retreat. In its role as support vehicle, the Defender will enable Red Bull X Alps crew members to test the expedition capability of the off-road vehicle in genuinely challenging conditions.
