Audi: Charging Hub with Lounge in a practical test
CHARGING AND RELAXING The Four Rings will test its own fast-charging system for series production use. The concept envisages reservable high-power charging points. In addition, a lounge area will be available. The search for a location for the pilot project is currently underway. During the test phase, drivers of other brands will also be able to use free and non-reserved charging points as well as parts of the lounge [...]

Flexible container cubes serve as the basis for the so-called Audi Charging Hub. In addition to charging columns, they also house used lithium-ion batteries as power storage units.
Photovoltaic modules provide additional green energy
Thanks to such an approximately 2.45 MWh intermediate storage unit, the total of six charging points, at which charging can take place with up to 300 kW of power, require only a standard 400-volt high-voltage connection.
Here, power from 11 kW per cube is sufficient to continuously fill the three storage modules with a total capacity of 2.45 MWh and charge them overnight. Photovoltaic modules on the roof provide additional green energy.
Completely independent of local network capacities
The hub can be transported, installed and adapted to the respective requirements on site in a short time - largely independent of local network capacities. The lounge area located on the upper floor will offer snacks, drinks and other amenities.
The Audi e-tron GT, for example, reaches a peak charging power of up to 270 kW. This allows it to recharge energy for up to 100 kilometers in just over five minutes; a charge from five to 80 percent takes around 23 minutes under ideal conditions.
It is not yet clear whether Switzerland will be included in the test.
