Fastest in free practice, best time in qualifying for both races and two start-finish victories - Grégoire Saucy is the man of the moment in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine.
In the racing series that evolved from the Formula Renault Eurocup and the Regional F3 Championship with standardized chassis from Tatuus and around 280 hp turbo engines based on the Mégane R.S., the driver from Jura did not allow himself to be rattled at any stage of the two races that were marred by safety car phases.
Focus from Monaco
After Saucy had already won the second round in Imola with the race car fielded by ART Grand Prix - undoubtedly one of the top teams of all - and had previously finished fifth, he leads the standings with 85 points and a lead of already 27 points.
The young talent from Bassecourt could now make his big appearance in Monaco in two weeks' time, where "Formula Alpine" will race for the third and last time as part of Formula 1.

Encouraging debut of Léna Bühler
The other Swiss did not make it out of the midfield. At least rookie Jasin Ferati showed an upward trend in 19th place in the first race. Unfortunately, he was not able to confirm it on Sunday due to a retirement in the first lap as a result of a collision.
As 14th in the second race, Axel Gnos did even slightly better than the Winterthur native. As expected, Léna Bühler had a difficult time in her first two races (hand fracture during testing). However, the Vaud native brought her race car to the finish line both times (25th and 27th place) and thus gained valuable racing experience.
No Jenzer pilot in the points
The three juniors from Jenzer Motorsport fell short of expectations in FIA Formula 3, which for the first time hosted three races on a GP weekend.
In eleventh place, Calan Williams narrowly missed out on the points-scoring top ten in the second race. Due to a mistake on the decisive qualifying lap, the experienced Australian had to settle for 21st place on the grid among 30 drivers, after which he moved up to P18 in Race 1. This was also the starting position for race 2, in which he made up seven positions.
Newcomers Pierre Chovet and Filip Ugran achieved a 14th and 21st place respectively as their best result.
E-Prix Monaco without Swiss glamour
After all, the three Swiss drivers in FIA Formula E didn't fare any better in Monaco. With grid positions 13 (Buemi), 18 (Mortara) and 20 (Müller), they could only hope for a turbulent race on the original GP circuit, as they did most recently in Valencia.
Although the seventh round of the season was varied in terms of the battle for the podium, the Swiss trio never came close to it. Despite a subsequent gain in place at the expense of Porsche driver André Lotterer, Sébastien Buemi, who had already won the E-Prix Monaco twice with Renault, missed out on the final point in eleventh place.
In the slipstream of the Nissan, Edoardo Mortara in the Venturi-Mercedes finished twelfth. With 18th place, Nico Müller in the Dragon-Penske experienced a race that was as good as over for him already on the starting lap due to a traffic jam at the Loews curve.

New table leader
Defending champion Antonio Felix da Costa celebrated his first win of the season in the DS Techeetah. With his second place, Dutchman Robin Frijns in the Virgin FE07 Audi from Virgin Racing took the top spot in the standings from compatriot Nyck de Vries, who came away empty-handed.
