The two 27-year-old GT3 specialists share the Corvette C7 GT3-R of the racing team from Baden-Württemberg. The newly formed duo will celebrate its debut next week at the season opener of the ADAC GT Masters, which is billed as the German GT Championship, at Oschersleben.
Return of a successful
Marvin Kirchhöfer already competed for Callaway Competition in 2018 and 2019, winning a total of six races with the longest-serving racing team in the ADAC GT Masters during this time. In 2018, he finished third overall.
Team founder and managing director Ernst Wöhr: "We are very pleased that under the current circumstances the opportunity arose to win Marvin for a return. He is a fast and very professional driver. Together with Jeffrey, we can thus present a strong driver pairing."
After a one-season break, the Saxon is now returning to the ADAC GT Masters and thus also to the most successful team in the series history with 34 race wins, two drivers' titles and two team titles.
Build on first win in 2021
This season, his Swiss team partner, who hails from Liestal, wants to build on the experience gained last year with the brawny V8 sports car and build on the victory at the Sachsenring.
Jeffrey Schmidt: "Marvin and I were teammates back in 2012 in the ADAC Formula Masters and have known each other since karting. We also get along very well off the track, which makes the job a lot easier. Marvin is a fast teammate and we can push each other well. I think we are a very strong driver pairing and my goals are accordingly high. I want to get back on the podium - and not just once."
