Fiat: Transport without exhaust fumes

ELECTRIC VEHICLE To mark the 40th anniversary of the launch of the Fiat Ducato, Fiat Professional is unveiling the all-electric version of the Ducato on Earth Day. Ducato
University lecturer Massimo Temporelli and Eric Laforge, head of light commercial vehicles Stellantis, presented the E-Ducato.

Thanks to its all-forward architecture and the large distance between the side rails, the high-voltage batteries of the E-Ducato can be perfectly positioned under the floor. This preserves the load capacity of ten to 17 cubic meters and almost two tons of payload.

Other advantages are the optimal weight distribution and the lowering of the center of gravity, which improves the handling of the vehicle under any load. Thanks to the 90 kW electric motor (122 hp, 280 Nm), the new Ducato achieves the same performance as the diesel versions.

Ranges of up to 370 kilometers in the city cycle
Two battery packages with 47 or 79 kWh and four charging options are offered for the E-Ducato. This enables ranges of up to 235 kilometers in the WLTP city cycle.

The 79-kWh battery increases the range to 370 kilometers in the city cycle. Energy for 100 kilometers can be charged in half an hour.

And to meet the most diverse requirements, the E-Ducato offers the Drive Mode Selector. In the Normal position, it provides the ideal balance between performance and cost, in Eco mode it saves energy, and in Power mode it handles heavy loads or demanding inclines.

About 40 percent less cost for maintenance
According to the manufacturer, maintenance costs for the E-Ducato are expected to be around 40 percent lower than for a model with an internal combustion engine. Total cost of ownership is therefore expected to match those of the diesel versions.
