The Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition celebrates the brand's return to Formula 1 and establishes the Vantage as a true sports car. It is also the first production model to be overseen directly by Aston Martin's new CEO, Tobias Moers.
As a direct result of the Vantage's development work to become the official Formula 1 safety car, the Vantage F1 Edition stands for performance and dynamism. It is the fastest and most powerful model in the series.
4-liter twin-turbo V8 with 535 hp and 685 Nm
The task set by Tobias Moers was to develop significant performance enhancements to successfully fulfill the role on the F1 race track without compromising on-road capabilities. The development team focused on incremental improvements in various areas of the powertrain, chassis and aerodynamics.
The maximum output of the 4-liter twin-turbo V8 has increased by 25 hp to 535 hp. Although the maximum torque remains unchanged at 685 Nm, this value is kept constant over a wider rev range. The engine power is transmitted to the wheels via a modified 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Various detail changes to the underbody
In terms of the chassis, the team focused on the suspension and steering, with further improvements to increase the stiffness of the front structure and further improve the responsiveness of the steering. In addition to the changes to the dampers, the chassis also benefits from an increased spring rate and lateral stiffness at the rear, which improves turn-in behavior and traction.
Feedback to the driver through special profile
The 21-inch Pirelli tires were also specially developed for the F1 Edition. The change to a tire with a lower profile is intended to provide more feedback to the driver. The performance upgrade of the Vantage F1 Edition is rounded off by a comprehensive aerodynamics package.
The exterior paintwork is available in both matt and high-gloss. The new color options include Jet Black and Lunar White, which are complemented by a monochrome matt grey racing graphic. The F1 Edition will be available from May as a Coupé and Roadster. Prices on request.
