A new S-Class from Stuttgart is always a milestone for Mercedes-Benz. This has always been the case and is no different with the current model. The S-Class sets the march for the future. There is simply no car that is as easy to pilot over long distances as the S-Class from Stuttgart.

The AutoSprintCH team experienced the flagship, the S 500 4Matic, in the long version. The list of equipment is a good eight pages long, which finally adds up to 192,797 Swiss francs. Including the car, of course.

The S 500 no longer has a V8 under the hood, but the highest expansion stage of the inline six-cylinder turbo. With 435 hp and 520 Nm of torque, the S 500 is adequately powered despite its weight. Added to this is the mild hybrid system with 16 kW (22 hp) of additional power and an additional 250 Nm.

S-Class
With a cW value of 0.22, the S-Class is one of the most streamlined vehicles in its class.

Agility in hairpin bends with rear-axle steering
No matter which driving mode is selected: The S-Class rolls along stably, it remains stiff, the side lean is kept within limits - and all that with maximum comfort. The 9G-Tronic works so smoothly that you have the feeling it wasn't installed.

There is simply no car that is as easy to pilot over long distances and generates as little stress as this luxury sedan. Wellness of a special kind.

The rear-axle steering also contributes to this. This option not only ensures agility in switchbacks, but also takes much of the terror out of tight parking spaces.

Digital worlds shape the interior experience
The large head-up display also plays with three-dimensional elements to unprecedented perfection. A dashboard that seems to come from the future stretches out in front of the driver and passengers.

The interior experience between digital and analog luxury is evident in the digital worlds, which are impressively displayed when the buyer activates the instrumentation and the ambient lighting with 250 light sources.

Rear-seat passengers also enjoy a modern infotainment system. The optional 4D Hi-Fi system from Burmester is perfect: using two structure-borne sound transducers per seat, the sound is immediately perceptible and thus expanded by one dimension.

Premiere of Digital Light headlamp technology
One of the most important innovations installed in the S-Class is the new Digital Light headlamp technology (shown in the center image gallery), which can project markings and symbols onto the road. A world premiere.

The S-Class is also already prepared for autonomous driving: It can already do more than is permitted by law.
