The audience can expect a lot of action - great cars and racing scenes included.

The Winterthur TV station TELE TOP, which can also be received in nationwide households via cable, will broadcast a twelve-part crime series starting March 13. "Schatten im Paradies" focuses on the most beautiful locations around Lake Constance and not on murderers and corpses (which appear only in dream scenes).

Mysterious businessman
Private detective Max Marek meets the "Godfather of Lake Constance". In the course of his investigations, a mysterious businessman keeps turning up, and he seems to have a hand in many criminal activities.

After the first episodes, an equally shady character named Turi von Rickenbach appears as his opponent. He is played by Arthur Breitenmoser, who is very well known in racing circles. Turi, who also lives in Rickenbach in real life, also joined as a co-producer. The gallery shows a few film scenes.

First feature film, then TV series all the way to China
Shadows in Paradise" was actually initially planned as a two-part feature film. The first film from 2018 has so far only been shown in Germany, where the response was reportedly good.

In the summer of 2019, the shooting of the second film took place. The Corona pandemic and its consequences have so far prevented its screening in Swiss cinemas.

As a result, a twelve-part series was created from the two feature films and a lot of leftover material, which TELE TOP broadcasts exclusively in Switzerland. Another, even more action-packed season is planned. Foreign buyers have also been found, such as Amazon Prime (worldwide) and a broadcaster in China.

Immobile and fast cars
In 45 years, Turi Breitenmoser has made it from a craftsman to a major real estate entrepreneur in eastern Switzerland. In his book "Er war nie zu faul, um reich zu werden" (He was never too lazy to get rich), which was published three years ago, he recounts his career, which was also marked by low blows, with blunt honesty.

His love of racing is not neglected either. Until a few years ago, the soon-to-be 70-year-old from Thurgau was active in the Sports Car Challenge and previously also successful in the Ferrari Challenge and other racing series. In Switzerland, he and his son Jacques (2018 SCC champion) last competed in the Hemberg Hill Climb in 2019 with their PRC sports cars in the supporting program.

Turi Breitenmoser loves fast cars. Today, he only sits in the sports car cockpit on track days to really put his foot down.

Playful learning effect
Today, Turi enjoys a well-earned retirement together with his wife Clementine. In response to several requests from the director Jean Paul Saron, who became aware of the bon vivant after reading Breitenmoser's book, Turi agreed to play a supporting role in this film project - although he actually had enough to do.

At a meeting with Hans "Hausi" Leutenegger, who has Hollywood experience, Breitenmoser also persuaded his friend and golfing colleague to participate in a small role. In addition to many professionals, the singer Matthias Reim ("Verdammt, ich lieb' Dich"), who lives in Stockach on Lake Constance, also participates.

Turi Breitenmoser: "I didn't enjoy it at first. I'm rather shy. Then, with time, joy came. When you play with professionals, you automatically get better."

Two friends with a lot in common: Turi Breitenmoser and Hausi Leutenegger.

Adrenaline and tingling
Breitenmoser was of course pleased that in "Shadow in Paradise" he is also allowed to appear with some fast cars (also from his own property) and as a racing driver in the PRC racing sports car. His daughter Severina, who is kidnapped, also plays and drives along.

Which was more difficult: racing or acting?

Turi Breitenmoser: "You feel more adrenaline in race cars. But it also tingles when I'm alongside great actors, especially since there are also nice ladies and I get to fall in love with one of them..."

There's no question that the neo-actor confessed to being an actor and co-producer for the further planned episodes of the TV series. And so that Turi doesn't get rusty as a racing driver, he ordered a new PRC with a Mader-Cosworth F1 engine (600 hp at 720 kilos vehicle weight) from Pedrazza in nearby Vorarlberg.

Saturday starts
"Shadows in Paradise" will run exclusively and as a Swiss free TV premiere on TELE TOP every Saturday from 5 p.m., Sunday from 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday from 5 to 6 p.m. starting March 13, 2021.

Whether it's the theft of five Ferraris from the MAC Museum in Singen or the most valuable book in the St.Gallen Abbey Library: The crime series, produced on a low budget compared to productions on Swiss television, promises sophisticated crimes, action, humor and magnificent locations.
