A century of spectacular motorcycles, racing victories and adventure characterize Moto Guzzi, the brand with the eagle. For the anniversary year, Moto Guzzi launches a limited series in a special 100th anniversary edition.
The vehicles are based on the V7, V9 and V85 TT models and will be available exclusively in 2021.
Green was the color of the first bike of the brand
Typical is the exclusive color scheme that recalls the legendary heritage - first and foremost the eight-cylinder of 1955, a bold project that was years ahead of global motorcycle production.
But the colors also recall the 350 Bialbero, one of the most successful motorcycles in history, which dominated the 350 class in the Motorcycle GP World Championship of the 1950s. Green was also the color worn by the brand's first motorcycle, the Normal.
The body colors are combined with a saddle covered with a natural color material. Other distinctive details include the gold-look eagle and the special logo that graphically celebrates Moto Guzzi's 100 years.
Tradition and world records under the sign of the eagle
Società Anonima Moto Guzzi was founded on March 15, 1921. In memory of one of the founders' comrades-in-arms, the eagle with outstretched wings was also chosen as the symbol for the company at that time. It quickly achieved worldwide fame.
The headquarters of Moto Guzzi was in Mandello del Lario, the same place where the company still produces today.
World speed champion title from 1935 to 1957
Among the most important models of the brothers Carlo and Giuseppe Guzzi are the GT 500 Norge of 1928, the Airone 250 of 1939 and the Galletto of 1950. In those years was also opened the first wind tunnel in the world in the motorcycle industry.
Successful engineer was Giulio Cesare Carcano, father of the 285 km/h Otto Cilindri (1955) and the prototypes that won no less than 15 world speed titles between 1935 and 1957. From September 9 to 12, 2021 in Mandello del Lario is planned the great festival, the Giornate Mondiali Moto Guzzi, GMG.
