The new entry-level model in the Taycan range produces up to 300 kW (408 hp) in overboost with Launch Control.

With the new Taycan, Porsche is presenting the fourth version of its first all-electric sports sedan, following the Taycan Turbo S, Taycan Turbo and Taycan 4S. With the standard performance battery, the new entry-level model produces up to 300 kW (408 hp) in overboost with Launch Control, and up to 350 kW (476 hp) with the optional Performance Battery Plus.

Longest range version of the series
The rated power of the new version, simply called the Taycan, is 240 or 280 kW - depending on whether the standard Performance battery with 79.2 kWh gross capacity or the Performance Plus battery with 93.4 kWh is installed. The range is 431 or 484 kilometers. This makes the base Taycan the version of the model series with the longest range.

Communication with the Plug & Charge charging station
As the youngest member of the model family, the Taycan features the innovations introduced in the other versions at the start of the new model year. The Plug & Charge function, for example, allows convenient charging and payment without a card or app: as soon as the charging cable is plugged in, the Taycan communicates in encrypted form with the Plug & Charge-enabled charging station. The charging process then starts automatically. The same applies to payment.

Lower nose section, side skirts and rear diffuser
To distinguish it from the other Taycan variants, the base model has black anodized brake calipers, and 19-inch Aero wheels are fitted ex works. Other rims in 20 and 21 inches are optionally available, as is the high-performance Porsche Surface Coated Brake.

The lower front section, side skirts and rear diffuser are the same as on the Taycan 4S. Here, the two Turbo models stand out with a different design.

Sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds
According to the factory, the Taycan accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds with both variants. The top speed is also a uniform 230 km/h.

The maximum charging power is up to 225 kW (Performance battery) or up to 270 kW (Performance battery Plus). Both batteries can be charged from five to 80 percent in 22 minutes and 30 seconds. This means that electricity for another 100 kilometers is already on board after around five minutes.

Brand-typical emphasis on the rear and fender
From the front, the electric sports car appears particularly wide and flat, with strongly curved fenders. The silhouette is defined by the sporty roofline, which slopes down toward the rear.

The side section with its strong sculpting is also characteristic. The slim cabin, a strongly indented C-pillar and the pronounced shoulders of the fenders result in the emphasis on the rear end that is typical of the brand.

With its purist design, the Taycan signals the dawn of a new age.

LED main headlights are on board as standard
Helping to distinguish the Taycan within the model family are the aerodynamically optimized 19-inch Taycan Aero wheels and the black anodized brake calipers.

The lower front section, side skirts and rear diffuser in black match the components of the Taycan 4S. LED main headlights are on board as standard.

Curved instrument cluster takes center stage
Clearly structured and with new architecture, the cockpit of the 2019 Taycan marked the start of a new era. The free-standing and curved instrument cluster forms the highest point on the instrument panel. This clearly emphasizes the driver's axis. Other elements include a central, 10.9-inch infotainment display and an optional display for the front passenger.

Completely leather-free equipment variant for the first time
As standard, the Taycan offers partial leather upholstery and comfort seats in the front with electric eight-way adjustment. Two trunks are available: The front compartment holds 84 liters, the rear up to 407 liters.

For the first time, the Stuttgart-based company is offering a completely leather-free version of the new Taycan. The interior is made of recycled materials to underscore the sustainability of the electric sports car.
