Electrification strategy bears fruit

Dieter Jermann, Brand Director Audi Switzerland: "I am proud that despite the pandemic and the resulting more difficult conditions at the beginning of the year, we were able to achieve our goals together and are now the market leader in alternative drives. We are committed to the Paris Climate Agreement and these results show that the brand's electrification strategy is bearing fruit."

Market leader in alternative drives
With regard to alternative drive systems, Audi increased its deliveries by 32.6 percent year-on-year and thus occupies first place as the market leader for alternative drive systems in Switzerland.

Looking at the Swiss market as a whole, a total of 66,687 vehicles with alternative drives hit the roads last year. This represents a record 28.2 percent market share for alternative drive systems for the year as a whole.

Growth in this area is primarily attributable to plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), but all-electric models (BEVs) and hybrid cars without charging capability (HEVs) also made strong gains. The mild hybrid systems (MHEV) are among the HEV vehicles.

Innovation, sustainability and mobility

Dieter Jermann: "Audi AG pursues a clear strategy based on innovation, sustainability and mobility. A strategy that fits perfectly with the Swiss market. In the coming months, the new electric flagship Audi e-tron GT will be launched, followed a few months later by the Q4 e-tron compact SUV, and will further strengthen the position of the brand with the four rings in the BEV market across all segments."
