Mercedes: Into new worlds with the Hyperscreen
ALL IN SIGHT When German premium manufacturers do something, they do it right. And that's also true of the upcoming all-electric flagship, the Mercedes-Benz EQS limousine, which will join the S-Class. This concept includes an unusual dashboard called the MBUX Hyperscreen. This concept includes an unusual dashboard called MBUX Hyperscreen. Here, a closed glass surface extends across the entire width of the cockpit; beneath it are three screens that use LCD or OLED technology.
Co-driver gets his own area
In terms of design, Daimler takes a giant leap forward with the Hyperscreen cockpit - far outshining not only the pioneering Tesla, but also the S-Class.
New color and display worlds make reference to electrification, and in an electro-specific representation, the car is symbolized by a flying saucer. The passenger is given his own area that can be operated independently.
Matching commands are displayed directly
The numerous novel functions include driver-specific suggestions based on previous user behavior, for example for regular calls or settings.
Daimler refers to this as a "zero layer" concept: You no longer have to go into deeper levels, but are shown the appropriate commands directly. Incidentally, a three-dimensional display of the instrumentation will also be possible in the EQS.
Option for other models of the Stuttgart
The development and manufacture of the Hyperscreen cockpit is one of the most demanding projects realized in a vehicle interior in recent years; the cold and hot composite technology; the curved cover glass is 141 centimeters wide.
Even though the Hyperscreen will initially be used in the EQS, as an option, it can be assumed that it will also be offered in other models of the electrified EQ series in the future, such as the upcoming EQE or a large SUV from the Stuttgart-based company with electric drive.
