Kia's show sets a world record for "most unmanned aerial vehicles setting off fireworks."
The logo is intended to represent Kia's new brand philosophy and clarify the values the company assures its customers about future products and services and the experiences they provide.
A slightly different logo was already visible on the hood of the Kia Stinger. It is still unclear whether Kia will only use the logo for selected markets such as its home market Korea or America. The logo could also only be used on special vehicles like electric models.
Kia as a pioneer in change and innovation
Ho Sung Song, Managing Director and CEO of Kia: "Kia's new logo is intended to express how the company intends to become a pioneer in terms of change and innovation. The automotive industry is going through a very dynamic transformation phase. Kia is continuously adapting to the circumstances and proactively shaping change."
Announcement of a long-term business strategy
The introduction of the new logo follows the announcement of the long-term business strategy "Plan S" last year. One of Kia's aims with "Plan S" is to establish itself as a leading supplier on the global automotive market.
The strategy is based on the increasing popularity of electric vehicles and the introduction of a wide range of mobility services tailored to the individual wishes and requirements of the respective clientele and local markets.
Synchronized mega show with 303 pyro drones
The new logo was unveiled during a record-breaking fireworks display in the skies over Incheon, Korea. With a total of 303 pyro drones, hundreds of fireworks were ignited in a synchronized mega show.
Kia thus sets a new Guinness World Record, for the "most unmanned aerial vehicles simultaneously setting off fireworks."
