The top model with hybrid drive is also offered as an estate. A hybrid will also be available for the 308 in December, and the Rifter will be electrified in the meantime.
The Polestar 4 wants to give the Tesla S a run for its money
From September, the young Swedish sports car brand Polestar will also be offering its impressive electric sports car with the starting number 2 with front-wheel drive instead of all-wheel drive. Starting in November, the Polestar 4 will compete with the Tesla Model S and the Porsche Taycan with top electric performance. The vehicle is likely to be based on the Precept study.
Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo as a luxurious station wagon
Porsche, the traditional German sports car brand, is putting the cart before the horse and in March will be launching the Taycan with only two wheels instead of four. The Taycan Cross Turismo will follow in May as a luxurious electric station wagon. The 911 GT3 and 911 Carrera 911 Carrera GTS will be launched almost simultaneously. The Cayenne Coupé Performance and the Cayman GT4 round off the year for the Zuffenhausen-based company.
Renault shows the SUV coupe Arkana in March
Renault has now also discovered the shape of the SUV coupe and is welcoming the four-door Arkana, derived from the Koleos, to Germany in March. In April it will be the turn of the Kangoo, and in June the Megane E-Tech with electric drive will be launched.
Seat Leon with 130 hp natural gas drive
Seat is showing a sensible alternative in January. The Leon is launched with a new 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that runs on natural gas and now produces 130 hp instead of 110 hp. Immediately afterwards, Seat's large Tarraco SUV will be launched as a plug-in hybrid, while the Ibiza will be revamped in August and the Arona in September.
Skoda SUV Enyaq iV with three performance levels
Right next door (the two VW subsidiary brands are under one roof in Germany), Škoda is preparing to launch the Enyaq iV electric SUV. From April, the electric vehicle will be available with two battery capacities and three power levels 110 to 150 kW (150 to 204 hp) and ranges between 340 and 510 kilometers.
The Enyaq RS will arrive in October, then with 195 kW (265 hp, and can travel at 180 km/h, while the other models will be limited to 160 km/h. A facelift for the Kodiaq and the new Fabia generation are also on the schedule for 2021.
Premieres at Ssangyong, Subaru and Suzuki
Ssangyong revamps the large Rexton SUV and introduces the smaller Tivoli in a longer version called Grand in June. The premiere of the brand's first electric SUV, based on the Korando, is scheduled for July.
Subaru is putting its crossover station wagon on a new platform next year, and Suzuki has Toyota's Swace and Across derivatives in showrooms.
The hydrogen Mirai comes to Switzerland
Toyota itself has a full program: The year begins with the launch of the Highlander, which will be available as a family SUV exclusively with hybrid drive. In March, the future greets us: The new Mirai rolls out. With its 134 kW (182 hp), a range of 650 kilometers should be no problem.
The Yaris Cross will make its debut in June, shortly followed by the Proace E electric van. The GR86 sports car will be relaunched in September, and the Japanese brand has announced the premiere of a new city car in October.
Volkswagen ID.4 GTX as the cornerstone for GTI series
Volkswagen's top model, the Arteon, gets a facelift in January, and a month later the Tiguan becomes an e-hybrid. The Wolfsburg company will then prove that there is room for improvement with the Arteon R. The turbo four-cylinder known from the Golf R produces 320 hp.
With the ID.4 GTX, VW lays the foundation for the GTI series within the electric car lineup. The GTX is supposed to sprint from a standstill to 100 km/h in two seconds. 225 kW (306 hp) are considered the norm.
In August, the Polo gets a facelift, followed immediately by the Golf Variant as an R model. And because SUVs also sell well in the basically absurd coupe form, a VW with the peculiar name Nivus is coming from Brazil at the end of the year. It is the coupé counterpart to the T-Roc, was developed under the Sugarloaf Mountain and is already on the market there.
A redesign of the Tiguan Allspace will be available before that. Last but not least, Volvo is turning the XC40 into an e-coupé in August.
