The fourth generation of the agile TSI unit combines the power delivery of a sports car powertrain with the efficiency of a downsized unit.
The 2.0-liter TSI develops maximum torque of 4200 Nm at just 2100 rpm. The engine maintains this power constantly at this high level up to 5350 rpm. Power is transmitted to the all-wheel drive by a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission.
Reaches 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds
The 320 hp TSI ensures superior performance. According to the factory, the Arteon Shooting Brake R accelerates to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds; at 250 km/h, propulsion is electronically limited. Optionally, the model can be ordered without a top speed limit.
The 4Motion all-wheel drive with R-Performance Torque Vectoring is equipped with wheel-selective torque control. This distributes the power of the TSI via a new rear-axle gearbox not only between the front and rear axles, but also between the two rear wheels (torque vectoring). This noticeably improves agility, particularly when cornering.
Blue brake calipers and 18-inch alloy wheels
With its exclusive equipment, the Arteon Shooting Brake R is a typical R model. The exterior equipment includes newly designed R bumpers, with striking air intakes at the front and a diffuser at the rear, mirror caps in a matte chrome look, an 18-inch R performance brake system with blue brake calipers and 18-inch Sebring alloy wheels.
Aluminum applications in noble carbon style
Interior refinements include a seat system in black ArtVelours with R logo in the front seat backrests and the R multifunction sports steering wheel with large shift paddles for the DSG. Also standard: aluminum applications in carbon style and an additional R layout for the digital instruments.
The decorative stitching on the seats and front armrest as well as the gearshift trim and leather sports steering wheel are set off in the typical Volkswagen R blue. The standard ambient lighting can also be set in a matching blue. 30 further color variants of the ambient lighting can be selected.
