The new Hyundai i20 wastes no time. It has only been on the market since October, but has already received the Golden Steering Wheel from Bild am Sonntag and Auto Bild for the best car in the class up to 25,000 Swiss francs. Now the completely newly developed third edition also wins the first comparison test in the 48/2020 issue of Auto Bild.
Comfort, cost, environment, connected car
The i20 won the comfort, environment, connected car and cost categories with an overall score of 545 points.
Verdict of the testers: "Strong appearance of the i20 and remarkable what Hyundai does for a technical effort in the small car class."
Hybrid technology and infotainment system
Among other things, the i20's modern infotainment system with 10.25-inch touchscreen and voice control, as well as its many assistance systems, helped it to win overall.
The 48-volt hybrid system, which allows the car to use a fuel-efficient sailing mode, is also valuable. The small car from Korea also beats its competitors in a comparison of costs, especially since it comes with a five-year vehicle warranty without mileage limits.
Prices for the i20 start at 16,490 francs.
