Porsche instructor Dennis Retera completed 210 laps in a Taycan drift on the 200-meter circular track at the Porsche Experience Center at the Hockenheimring.

In 55 minutes, he covered 42.171 kilometers - exactly the marathon distance. This drive not only secured him the world record for the longest uninterrupted drift in an electric car, but also an entry in the Guinness Book of Records.

Low center of gravity and long wheelbase
The new record holder completed the cross-drive in a rear-wheel-drive Taycan variant that is currently only available in China.

Dennis Retera: "When the driving stability programs are switched off, a powerslide with the electric Porsche is decidedly easy. Sufficient power is always available, and the low center of gravity and long wheelbase ensure stability."

Porsche Taycan is multiple record holder
The ride took place under the supervision of Guinness World Records on the irrigated driving dynamics surface. The official record judge was Joanne Brent, who has been tracking record attempts of all kinds for Guinness World Records for more than five years.

The expert meticulously documented the record with technical aids and other experts. The Porsche Taycan is already the record holder in several other disciplines.

For example, he completed a 24-hour endurance run of 3425 kilometers on the high-speed circuit in Nardò, recorded a best-in-class time of 7:42 minutes on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife and sprinted from a standstill to 200 km/h 26 times on the airfield in Lahr.
