Salon Paris: Mercedes E-Class as All-Terrain

Mercedes-Benz calls a new model version of the E-Class All-Terrain, which celebrates its premiere at the Paris Motor Show (visitor days October 1 to 16, 2016). Striking: The most striking feature of the striking front is the brand's SUV-style dual-slat grille with embedded central star. The louvers are finished in iridium silver.

The robust appearance is also enhanced by the independent front bumper and the underride guard-look trim, galvanized in silver chrome. The three-part front bumper is painted in body color in the upper part and grained in black plastic in the lower part.

Special interior features include an aluminum-carbon look trim piece available exclusively for the All-Terrain, stainless steel sport pedals with rubber studs, and floor mats with All-Terrain lettering.

Diesel engines with four and six cylinders
At market launch, the All-Terrain will be available as the E 220 d 4Matic, whose newly developed diesel engine produces 194 hp and 400 Newton meters of torque. Top speed is 232 km/h, and eight seconds are specified for the standard sprint from zero to 100 km/h. A variant with a 6-cylinder diesel follows shortly afterwards. Both models are equipped with the 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic transmission as standard. The All-Terrain comes standard with the Dynamic Select driving program, which, like the GLE, has a special All-Terrain mode. In conjunction with the standard Air Body Control air suspension, it raises the chassis by two centimeters at up to 35 km/h and adjusts other parameters.
