Motorsport: Jean-Paul von Burg in the lead
Around 40 participants started to the Porsche Cup Suisse in Magny-Cours (F). After a narrow defeat to Ernst Keller in the GT3 Challenge, championship leader Jean-Paul von Burg managed to prevail again in the wet endurance race. This was not the first time Ernst Keller had been on pole in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge, and this time he also retained the upper hand in the sprint race. Keller and defending champion Jean-Paul von Burg, who started next to him, drove close together for the entire race. Patrick Schmalz climbed onto the podium in third place.
This was also the order in which the trio started the 100-mile race, which replaced the second sprint in France. As rain set in, Ernst Keller spun on the second lap, dropping to the back of the field. From then on, Jean-Paul von Burg was leading. A safety car phase brought Ernst Keller closer to the leader again after he had caught up, but he did not manage to catch him up. "Even with a perfect run, it wouldn't have been enough against Jean-Paul. He is simply faster in the rain at the moment and makes practically no mistakes," said Ernst Keller, praising the winner.

Triumph from twelfth place on the grid
In the Porsche Sports Cup, which the drivers dominated with their Cayman GT4 Clubsport, Patrick Meystre managed a start-finish victory in the sprint race ahead of Oliver Wolf. The endurance race showed that starting position is not always decisive. The duo Benno Oertig/Vincent Capillaire, who had started at the front, only brought their Cayman home in ninth place. The unexpected victory went to Daniele Timbal/Nicola Bravetti, who fought their way from 12th on the grid to the top and won ahead of soloist Eric Schmid. The strategy of making an early pit stop during the safety car period had paid off for all three.
In Driver's Challenge, where the average of a driver's ten race laps is defined as the reference lap, Roland Basler in the Porsche 964 showed the smallest deviation. The Porsche Cup Suisse season concludes on October 21 and 22 in Misano.
