Companies, brands, influencers, artists - many have discovered the podcast medium to bring their message or a product closer to the target group. Audiokanzlei has made the studio mobile. Podcar
Audiokanzlei provides strategic consulting, content creation, staff training and more.

When Dino Giglio went into business for himself with "Die Audiokanzlei" after more than ten years in broadcasting, the former program director of Radio 105 actually only intended to satisfy the growing need for podcasts professionally and stationary.

Podcast car comes to the client
Then came the lockdown this spring and Giglio and his team (Rosanna Grüter for concepts, Massimo Laqaules and Kurt Humann for sound design) quickly realized that there would be a digital transformation of unimagined proportions and new solutions would have to be found.

They quickly developed the idea of the PodCar, a mobile high quality studio with which they can drive to clients and record their podcasts practically on their own doorstep.

The idea itself is not revolutionary; after all, there are OB vans that make entire studios for TV or radio mobile. But that's a really big box, unaffordable for Mr. and Mrs. Swiss.

Perfect insulation in the van with the star
Dino Giglio chose a Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo as the basis. Why?

Dino Giglio: "We did an acoustic test in various large cars in the rear. In the Marco Polo, the acoustics were simply the best; what we recorded there sounded perfect."

Among other things, this is due to good insulation and the headliner, which is built into the Marco Polo; you can raise the roof. Almost certainly, the Mercedes-Benz designers of the luxury motorhome did not have a rolling recording studio in mind!

Dino Giglio: "It sounds exactly the same as it does in a recording studio when you sit in and record."

The audio equipment was carried out by Auris in Muntelier, a company specializing in studio construction. Die Audiokanzlei had the interior work done by Sortimo in Oberhasli. All in all, a six-figure investment.

Customized packages as needed
This is how you get to the podcast: Contact the audio law firm, get a quote (there are no fixed prices, the right package is put together for everyone individually).

The PodCar comes nationwide, needs (currently still) a house power connection for the technology. Soon a battery will be installed with up to 3h runtime without mains - and off we go.

Trolley has been in use for a few days
To get to know each other, we let ourselves be picked up to take a ride, after all, this is a Switzerland-wide premiere - the PodCar has only been on the road for two days.

Successfully, as Dino Giglio, who personally drives the Marco Polo, reports.

Dino Giglio: "I've just come from Schaffhausen. I recorded a radio play there."

Who is the PodCar suitable for?

Dino Giglio: "For artists, influencers, bloggers, companies or individuals - just anyone who wants to communicate, needs interviews, wants to tell stories."

So for everyone.

Customers have a choice of three variants
There are currently three options: You book time in the PodCar, the recording is then mastered by Die Audiokanzlei.

Second option: The team does the post-production, distributes on Spotify, Apple and Google, if desired, does the sound design.

Third variant: A concept is developed together with Audiokanzlei. The customer always has technical support.

Dino Giglio: "We can also stream, live over 5G."

Currently, the team is unrivaled on the road, but the longer the more the mobile business idea is sure to catch on.
