Maxus is a brand of the Chinese automotive group SAIC, number 1 in China and number 7 worldwide. A year ago, Maxomotive - the name of the Swiss import company - launched the battery-electric large van EV80 with 82 kW electric motor, 320 Nm torque, 910 kilo payload and 154 kilometer range (according to WLTP).
Competitor for Nissan and Mercedes-Benz
Now comes the next coup: The more compact Maxus eDeliver 3 was developed from the ground up as a purely electric vehicle (the EV80 is also available with a combustion engine in China). In its segment, it primarily aims (with a short wheelbase of 2.9 meters) to challenge the class leader Nissan e-NV200 for market share, but also (with a long wheelbase of 3.2 meters) to win over customers of the Mercedes-Benz eVito.
Two lengths and three colors to choose from
The Maxus eDeliver 3 is available from stock in two lengths and three colors. Other colors are optionally available from the factory, but then you wait up to five months until delivery.
The 218-centimeter-long cargo area of the compact version (4.5 meters long) offers a load volume of 4.8 cubic meters and space for two Euro pallets. The long version (5.1 meters) offers a cargo area with a length of 277 centimeters and a volume of 6.3 cubic meters, space for three Euro pallets and a payload of up to 1020 kilograms.
Access to the cargo area is via asymmetrical rear hinged doors or a 71-centimeter-wide sliding door on the side. You can see details in the gallery.
344 kilometer range in eco mode
The electric motor delivers 90 kW (122 hp), 255 Nm of torque to the front wheels and accelerates swiftly to a maximum of 120 km/h. There is a choice of two battery sizes: 30 kWh or 52.5 kWh, and Maxus offers an eight-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty on both.
The price difference is exactly 4000 francs. In Eco mode, up to 344 kilometers of range according to WLTP are possible with the large battery.
The driver selects from two driving modes and three recuperation levels at the touch of a button.
Eleven dealers at 18 locations in Switzerland
Attractive features include air conditioning, heated seats, cruise control, rearview camera, rear parking sensors, electrically adjustable and heated exterior mirrors, DAB+ radio with MP3 and Bluetooth, and multifunction steering wheel.
The eDeliver 3 is available from eleven dealers at 18 locations in Switzerland from 34,490 francs with a short wheelbase and 35 kWh battery The top model with a large battery and long wheelbase is available from 39,990 francs.
