Oliver Rowland and Sébastien Buemi helped Nissan to the runner-up title in 2019/20. Their work in Formula E is also taking series development forward.

The all-electric racing series is enjoying World Championship status for the first time in its seventh season. All the more reason for all the teams and drivers to be motivated for the races.

Nissan is relying on the tried-and-tested team. Sébastien Buemi and Oliver Rowland will once again be fighting for points and victories in the race cars with starting numbers 23 and 22.

Pick up where we left off in 2020
In the 2019/20 season that ended in August, Nissan e.dams recorded one victory, five podium finishes and one pole position, which was enough to finish second overall and runner-up in the championship.

While Buemi finished six times on the Super Pole, the final qualifying lap of the fastest drivers, Rowland scored his first ever race triumph.

Tommaso Volpe, Global Director Nissan Motorsport: "Seb and Oli are doing a great job. We welcome the consistency that their commitment to the team brings. This will allow us to build on our previous successes."

Ns for the series
For Nissan, however, winning is not the only goal in Formula E.

Tommaso Volpe: "With every race, we learn more about every aspect of our high-performance electric vehicles, which then feeds into the development of the road vehicles. Through racing, we are continuously developing our EV expertise."

Behind Buemi and Rowland, Mitsunori Takaboshi again acts as test and reserve driver. Former Nissan GT Academy winner Jann Mardenborough supports the team in the simulator.

Showcase for electric cars
Nissan became the first Japanese automaker to enter Formula E in 2018. With this commitment, the brand wants to continue to present its vision of intelligent mobility and inspire racing fans around the world.

The third season in 2020/21 coincides with the start of production of the all-electric Nissan Ariya coupe crossover and the tenth birthday of the Leaf - the world's first mass-produced electric car.

Ashwani Gupta, COO Nissan: "Formula E allows us to demonstrate the power of intelligent Nissan mobility technologies. The racing series gets people around the world excited about electric mobility while raising awareness of its benefits. The lessons we learn in Formula E help us develop ever better electric vehicles."
