Opel: A Mokka to suit every taste 🎥

Above all, however, the Mokka has become shorter. It now measures just 4.15 meters in length, almost 13 centimeters less than its predecessor and thus even undercuts the Crossland X.

Plenty of space for passengers and luggage
The wheelbase of the new model has grown slightly. Despite the shorter body, the interior space is similarly good to that of the first generation.

Schmalhans doesn't have to be a loadmaster when it comes to luggage either. At least 350 liters fit in the trunk. With the rear seat folded down, the Mokka can hold 1105 liters of luggage.

A good 120 kilograms less weight
However, the new model's weight loss of 120 kilograms is not solely due to the tighter body dimensions.

Intelligent lightweight construction is under the sheet metal, which gives leeway in terms of payload and above all for preparing the electric drive.

Commitment to the electrified future
Right from the start, the Opel competes as an electric vehicle, the Mokka-e, at the same time as a diesel and two gasoline models. The fact that the electric edition is the most powerful of the series should be more than a coincidence, but rather a commitment by Opel to the electrified future.

The electric's powertrain is also used by the Corsa-e, and the batteries deliver 50 kWh, which should give the nearly 1600-kilogram Mokka-e a range of up to 324 kilometers. Please see the gallery.

From 0 to 100 km/h in new seconds.
Then, at the latest, it is time to drive to the next charging station. At a wallbox with 11 kW AC power, it takes a good five hours and 15 minutes until the battery is full.

It is faster at public stations with 100 kW, where it takes only 30 minutes for the battery to reach an eighty percent state of charge.

However, the Opel Stromer is not the fastest in the Mokka club. Although 100 kW (136 hp) and the rich torque maximum of 260 Newton meters make it the master of sprinting and ensure acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in nine seconds. But that's the end of the line at 150 km/h. Higher speeds would nibble away at the range.

Diesel and gasoline from 100 to 136 hp
This set of physical rules also applies to the other engines. Diesel and gasoline engines also consume far more fuel at high speeds than the values determined according to the standard. But they fill up faster than the Mokka-e.

The entire gasoline guild relies on turbocharged three-cylinder engines with a displacement of 1.2 liters, they are offered in 100 hp or 130 hp (205 and 230 Nm peak torque) and are expected to consume 4.5 to 4.8 liters of premium per 100 kilometers according to the standard and factory specifications.

The four-cylinder diesel has a displacement of 1.5 liters and produces 110 hp with a torque of 250 Nm. According to the data sheet, it consumes 3.8 liters of fuel over the standard distance.

Screens with high resolution graphics
The Rüsselsheim company has always struggled with the instrumentation. The Mokka puts an end to that. It has two screens with high-resolution graphics that have a decent format to boot.

It is pleasant that there are still keys and dials that can be used to directly control the most important functions.

Ergonomic and comfort seats on offer
The base model already includes safety features such as emergency brake assist, traffic sign recognition and LED lighting. Only the LED matrix headlights are available at extra cost.

Adaptive cruise control, a 180-degree rearview camera and active lane departure warning are also available as options.

In addition, and this is something to which the Rüsselsheim company attaches great importance, there is a selection of different ergonomic and comfort seats. These include those bearing the stamp of the Healthy Back Campaign, which can be air-conditioned or offer a massage function.

Prices for Switzerland have not yet been determined.
