For Mobility Switzerland, electromobility is an important key to protecting the environment. That is why it is switching completely to climate-neutral electric cars (Photo: obs/Mobility).

Sharing cars instead of owning them makes efficient use of resources and protects the environment. The entire Mobility fleet is to be electrified and therefore emission-free in operation by 2030 at the latest.

A feat of strength, as the supply currently stands at 130 vehicles powered by electricity and 100 powered by biogas.

Mobility Managing Director Roland Lötscher: "We want to do our best to protect the environment and preserve a world worth living in for future generations. Electromobility is an important key to this."

Charging infrastructure as a challenge
The expensive and complex charging infrastructure is the biggest hurdle for Mobility.

Roland Lötscher: "We are only tenants of our parking spaces, not owners. We can therefore only achieve electrification in cooperation with others. We see this primarily in partnerships."

The cooperative also hopes that manufacturers will simplify and standardize charging processes and that the public sector will increasingly promote charging infrastructure.

Closer cooperation with Myclimate
Mobility aims to be "emission-free" (Well to Wheel) by 2030 and "climate-neutral" (Life Cycle Assessment) by 2040.

Mobility is strengthening its cooperation with the climate foundation Myclimate in order to have an independent monitoring body for its sustainability measures and a professional partner.

The car sharing company is participating in the Myclimate initiative "We Care". Customers can continue to voluntarily offset their CO2 emissions on their journeys and also support Mobility in the rapid development of sustainable mobility.
