Family Business Award: The 2020 candidates
EVERY YEAR AGAIN The Family Business Award honors particularly sustainable family businesses every year. The three finalists for 2020 have been selected. The winner will be chosen at the award ceremony on September 9. This year marks the ninth time the Family Business Award will be presented. The Family Business Award will be presented for the ninth time this year. Due to the Corona pandemic, the winner will be chosen on a smaller scale at the award ceremony on September 9, 2020 at the Amag headquarters in Cham.
Three finalists shortlisted
The following three family businesses have been nominated as finalists:
- Metzler & Co. AG, 9436 Balgach
- Michel Group AG, 3860 Meiringen
- Schibli Group, 8032 Zurich
So far, the prize has been awarded to the following family businesses: Wilhelm Schmidlin AG (2019), 1a hunkeler fenster AG & 1a hunkeler holzbau AG (2018), Jucker Farm AG (2017), FRAISA SA (2016), Wyon AG (2015), Entreprises et Domaines Rouvinez (2014), SIGA Holding AG (2013) and Trisa AG (2012).
Award for genuine and lived corporate culture
Amag created the Family Business Award in honor of its founder and patron Walter Haefner. He had championed genuine and lived corporate culture.
The award is given to responsible and entrepreneurially sustainable companies from Switzerland that employ more than 25 people. In addition, the chairmanship of the board of directors or the operational management must be held by a family member and the majority of the capital must be owned by the family.
Well-known personalities in the jury
A ten-member jury is responsible for selecting the winning company. It is made up of experienced personalities with proven expertise. The jury is chaired by Dr. Karin Lenzlinger, President of the Zurich Chamber of Commerce.
The judging process was developed by the Center for Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability CCRS at the University of Zurich. The scientific procedure provides the basis for an objective evaluation of the applicants by the independent jury.
