LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL The Swiss July model statistics do not come as a surprise at the top, but there is a lot going on at the back. Volkswagen's Bulli in particular is a real surprise. The monthly declines, which were recorded due to the Corona crisis, are slowly diminishing. In July, the number of cars sold in Switzerland and [...]

Skoda
The Bulli from Volkswagen is popular with families. The car offers enough space for four people.

The monthly declines recorded due to the Corona crisis are slowly diminishing. In July, a total of 22,641 new passenger cars were registered in Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein.

Skoda Octavia continues in first place
The Skoda Octavia continues to lead the model statistics. Last month, 644 units of the model were registered, which is just before the generation change (AutoSprintCH reported). And no one had expected this: Volkswagen newly claimed second and third place in July with its Golf (483) and T6 (462) models. A real surprise.

Tesla no longer in the top ten
That almost 500 units of the VW bus were newly registered. VW's double jump on the podium also has an impact on the cumulative top ten list of models January to July 2020. The German manufacturer now occupies places two to four.

This means that VW is pushing Tesla's Model 3, which was still in third place up to and including June, out of the top ten. Reason: Only 31 electric vehicles were newly registered in July.

... these are the best selling models
In fourth place among the best-selling models in July is the Skoda Karoq (414), followed by the Audi Q3 (402) and Skoda Kodiaq (387). Seventh to tenth place is occupied by the VW Tiguan (361), BMW X1 (353), Fiat 500 (351) and Mercedes-Benz A-Class (338).
