As part of another Sägesser Motorsport event at the Circuit de Bresse (Sprint Day on August 7 and 8), the Swiss Legends Racing club invited its drivers to races 3 and 4 of the annual championship that began in July.

Premiere for Kräuchi
As three weeks ago at the same venue, Frédéric Cotting, Urs Böhlen and Thomas Kräuchi decided the podium places in the overall classification between themselves. Kräuchi came out on top for the first time in Friday's time trial.

The rider from Bern set the fastest lap in both time slots and claimed his first victory in the overall standings and the Elite class. With 1'38.14, he relegated champion Cotting by 0.33 seconds and runner-up by 0.85 seconds to the places of honor.

In the Pro class (aged 18 and over), Nils Heller beat Daniel Kauter by around half a second. In the 50+ seniors in the Master class, Peter Sägesser beat long-time Formula Ford veteran Hans Pfeuti by seven hundredths with just one attempt.

Sprint race at Cotting
Cotting set the pace in Saturday's race with back-to-back flying starts. Kräuchi was breathing down his neck until he was surprised by a braking maneuver by the leader and subsequently spun. Böhlen then became Cotting's first pursuer.

After eight laps, the man from Düdingen crossed the finish line 367 thousandths ahead of the man from Bern. Kräuchi saved third place, eight seconds behind. As on the previous day, Alain Chatton finished a respectful fourth.

Bruno Heller won solo in the Master class, while Daniel Kauter was the only one of three competitors to finish in the youngest riders' category. Cotting, Kauter and Heller lead their categories in the championship.

The drivers of Swiss Legends Racing often meet on circuits close to the border. This means that race cancellations in Switzerland don't affect them much.

Next stop in Lignières
The Legends drivers will gather in their own country for the next two races. On September 12 and 13, as already mentioned, a joint TCS and SLR event will take place on the Lignières circuit, where there will be a slalom on the first day and a time trial on the second for further placings and points.
