Racing seats, white contrast stitching and carbon leather give the Å koda Slavia a sporty look.
The Slavia, as the latest concept car is called, is an uncompromising two-seater spider that the 31 apprentices from the in-house vocational school put together with a lot of manual work.
At the Škoda Academy in Mladá Boleslav, the Czechs train their own young talent, who were once again allowed to fulfill their own car dream.
The basis is the body of the Scala
The compact Scala series model provides the basis for the Slavia. To this end, the apprentices cut off the roof of the station wagon's body, reinforced the floor assembly and welded the rear doors into a single unit.
Rear spoiler integrated behind the flap
Attention was paid to smooth transitions with low gap dimensions. Starting with the two humps behind the front seats, which were designed specifically for the Slavia, through to the likewise newly developed tailgate with its integrated rear spoiler.
In some cases, the trainees also adopted add-on parts from the series, such as the 20-inch aluminum wheels from the Kodiaq RS.
Exhaust system with distinctive sound
The Spider variant of the Scala is more than just a finger exercise and appears to be well thought out down to the last detail. Specially designed add-on parts on the front, side and rear diffuser underscore the sporty character of the Slavia just as much as the dual exhaust system created in-house, which gives the Slavia a distinctive sound.
The 1.5-liter TSI powertrain produces 150 hp
In the Slavia, the 150-hp 1.5-liter TSI is powered by a standard production engine. It transmits its power to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The chassis, the electronics with their assistance systems, and the cockpit with its digital instruments and infotainment also remained untouched.
Carbon look and harness straps
In the interior, bucket seats in a leather-carbon look, four-point seat belts and white applications ensure a successful sporty appearance.
Directly behind the specially shaped Sparco sports car are two embroidered lions that quote the landmark of Mladá Boleslav, as well as the bass speakers of the sound system. The subwoofer has an output of 2250 watts, while the speakers provide 320 watts of sound to the Slavia.
In the trunk space for two electric scooters
The trunk of the Slavia can accommodate two electric scooters, which are intended for environmentally friendly mobility in the so-called last mile.
Incidentally, the name Slavia has a long tradition at Škoda. It was the name of the first bicycles with which the two company founders Václav Laurin and Václav Klement established their company exactly 125 years ago.
