Motorsport: ETH students aim for overall victory again

They drive the smallest Swiss racing car, but celebrate all the greater successes with it. In Austria, the students from Team AMZ took overall victory with their electric racer, which they hope to repeat this week in Hockenheim. The Academic Motorsport Association Zurich (AMZ) took part in this year's Formula Student Austria on the grounds of the Red Bull Ring for the second test of strength in various disciplines. The employees of the ETH Formula Student Project impressed across the board in the electric class. For only the second time in the club's history, all four trophies for the victories in the dynamic disciplines of acceleration, skidpad, autocross and endurance (over 22 kilometers) were brought to Zurich.

It's not just about speed
It wasn't just on the track that the AMZ cut a fine figure with the fastest times of the gotthard Miniflitzer. The team also came out on top in engineering design. Following their victory in Silverstone, the budding ETH and HSLU engineers once again impressed with their solid theoretical understanding and innovative spirit. With their business presentation, which involved a fictitious sales concept, they also made it to the final and were ultimately rewarded with third place. With fourth place in the Cost category (detailed cost reporting), the Swiss achieved a total score of 946 out of a possible 1000 points. This was equivalent to overall victory.

Smart students: The budding engineers not only take meticulous care of gotthard's technology, but also do well in the static disciplines.

However, there was no time to rest on our laurels. On Tuesday, the team arrived in Hockenheim, where Formula Student Germany is taking place from Wednesday to Sunday. The main aim is to exploit the full potential of gotthard and the team at the world's biggest Formula Student event and thus repeat the performance of Austria. AutoSprintCH wishes you good luck!
