With the New Trafic and the VIP version, the Trafic SpaceClass, Renault has two models with the largest amount of space in this class. After the SpaceClass already offers comfortable overnight accommodation in the car with the Pack Escapade, this is now followed by the SpaceNomad, a fully developed van that offers amenities like a hotel.
Designation is Swiss exclusivity
With the new Trafic SpaceNomad, Renault took on a pioneering role within the Renault Group in Switzerland. This was triggered by the booming market for camping vans and outdoor activities, but also by the success of the new Trafic SpaceClass.
This version combines the luxurious upgrade to a passenger car even with a comfortable couch for sleeping. Detailed photos in the gallery. The model name SpaceNomad is a Swiss exclusive, which was developed in an internal competition among the employees of Renault Suisse SA.
The most important data at a glance
There is a choice of 4.99 meters in length and four seats (SpaceNomad) or 5.39 meters in length with five seats (Grand SpaceNomad). In terms of powertrains, there is a choice between the Blue dCi 145 with 6-speed manual transmission or the Blue dCi 170 with dual-clutch transmission.
Equipment with rotating front seats
In the ready-to-use Hanroad camping van with large pop-up roof, there are two double beds for four sleeping places (120 x 200 and 128 x 185 centimeters).
Features include swivel front seats, interior table, two burner gas stove with sink, 49 liter refrigerator, fresh and used water tanks, 2000 watt oil heater with floor insulation, large drawers and cabinets, awning, and an outdoor shower
Both models also feature the extensive safety, comfort and connectivity equipment familiar from the new Trafic.
