Following the successful offensive with the C3 Aircross and the C5 Aircross, Citroën is now gearing up for a comeback in the compact saloon segment with the new C4 and ë-C4.

But: the new C4 has no airbumps (air cushions on the sides to protect against parking bumps). This is a design turning point. A reminiscence of the bumpers is perhaps the trapezoidal hole in the sill, emphasized by the light border.

Successful with compact saloons
Since the first Citroën C4 rolled off the production line in 1924, the brand has been successful with its compact saloons. One of the most popular models in this segment is the GS, which was named "European Car of the Year" in 1971 and is celebrating its 50th birthday this year.

Other compact saloons that are still appreciated today for their design, comfort and easy handling include the Ami 6 and 8, GSA, ZX and Xsara, the predecessors of the C4.

Continuation of the electrification offensive
After the C5 Aircross Hybrid, the Ami, the ë-Jumpy and the ë-SpaceTourer, the ë-C4 is the fifth FRanzosen model to be presented as part of the electrification offensive.
