Road Safety Council as a partner
The chairman of the automobile club ACE, Stefan Heimlich, described the German Road Safety Council in a press release as an "important alliance partner". The club expects a speed limit to reduce serious injuries and fatalities in road traffic.
Lowest level in 2019
The number of traffic fatalities fell by 6.6 percent last year to 3059 deaths, the lowest level since records began, according to records from the Federal Statistical Office. As recently as 2000, the number of people killed in road traffic was 7503. A general speed limit was not introduced during this period.
