E-trailer monitors functions
Some people shy away from the extra trip to the filling station when the house on wheels is in tow. The E-Trailer app monitors both parameters and always knows when the compressed air needs to be checked or the correct drawbar load needs to be set.
But the app can do much more than that. With the help of its sensors, which are available individually or in packages, almost all of the caravan's important functions can be controlled.
Easy installation at home
Eight different sensors are available. They are easy to install at home. Video instructions are available.
If necessary, a specialist dealer's workshop can also carry out the installation. The basic package costs around 200 francs. This includes the E-Connect control unit and the E-Volt modules for monitoring the charge status of the on-board battery and E-Level, which indicates the inclination of the vehicle.
The E-Pressure module determines the tire pressure and E-Load the drawbar load. E-Waterlevel shows the fill level of the fresh water tank, E-Gaslevel that of the gas cylinders.
E-Temperature measures the temperature and humidity in the vehicle, and the E-Switch module warns you if windows and roof hatches are not closed and locked correctly. See the app functions in the gallery.

The monitoring system can also be used for motorhomes. Although the drawbar load check is not required here, the tire pressure must be measured on four wheels instead of two.
Downloading the e-trailer app for Android or iOS is possible free of charge. The user can either actively query the data or define threshold values, which automatically display a warning message if they are exceeded or not reached.
Basic rules of harness driving
However, the app does not change the basic rules of trailer driving. Good handling is still ensured by a tire pressure that is at the level of the permissible value as specified by the manufacturer. The drawbar load should be fully utilized.
The heavier the load on the trailer coupling, the better the caravan will track the towing vehicle. It is therefore advisable to stow luggage as far forward and as far down as possible in order to lower the center of gravity.
