Opel: Vivaro-e ensures quiet transports
PREMIERE The Opel Vivaro-e is the first battery-electric van from the Rüsselsheim-based company. The model is also the first all-electric commercial vehicle in the important mid-size van segment. With a payload of up to 1275 kilograms, the Vivaro-e tows away almost as many loads as a Vivaro Cargo S with a two-liter diesel (up to 1405 kilograms payload). The Vivaro-e is the [...]
With a payload of up to 1275 kilograms, the Vivaro-e can tow almost as many loads as a Vivaro Cargo S with a two-liter diesel (up to 1405 kilograms). The Vivaro-e is the only electric vehicle in its class that can be ordered ex works with a hitch, enabling it to handle towing loads of up to 1000 kilograms.
Batteries under the cargo area
Customers can choose between two lithium-ion batteries of different sizes. Depending on requirements, a 75 kWh battery for a range of up to 330 kilometers and a 50 kWh battery for a maximum of 230 kilometers (both according to WLTP) are available.
Since a battery-electric version was planned from the outset, the batteries are installed under the cargo area in such a way that they do not restrict the load volume. With an output of 100 kW (136 hp) and a maximum torque from standstill of 260 Newton meters, the Vivaro-e is barely audibly more powerful than most e-transporters. The top speed is limited to 130 km/h, which promotes the electric range.
Different loading methods
Its batteries can be charged via a wallbox at home, Fast Charger on the road or via any power outlet. Every Vivaro-e has the option of being charged at a fast charging station with 100 kW direct current. This allows the 50 kWh battery, for example, to be 80 percent recharged in just 30 minutes.
With the large 75 kWh battery, this only takes 45 minutes. For those who prefer to drive small circles, the standard 7.4 kW charging port can be used to recharge single-phase AC at any outlet, at any stopover.
Three lengths offer many variants
The Stromer is available as a classic van, as a crew cab with plenty of extra space for tools or spare parts, as a station wagon for the assembly team or as a base for superstructures. With the Flex Cargo through-loading option on the passenger side, the load volume of the S can be increased from 4.6 cubic meters to 5.1 cubic meters in no time at all.
Various assistance systems on board
In addition to a head-up display, the Vivaro-e features lane departure warning, advanced traffic sign recognition, drowsiness warning, speed control, front collision warning and emergency braking assist.
Ultrasonic sensors at the front and rear warn the driver of obstacles when parking and also monitor blind spots. The 180-degree rear camera transmits its images to the seven-inch touchscreen in the cockpit.
