Peugeot: Now come the plug hybrids 🎥
PLUG-IN-HYBRIDE Electrified drives are needed - and fast. Peugeot is launching the new 508 Hybrid and 3008 Hybrid4 models alongside the all-electric e-208 and e-2008. The Peugeot 3008 GT Hybrid4 with all-wheel drive also handles well off-road.
In order to meet the new CO2 targets, it is now imperative that manufacturers and importers also have electrified models on offer. The reason: purely battery-electric models and plug-in hybrids are particularly valuable for the CO2 balance of the fleet. So Peugeot is also positioning itself for the future.
In the compact segment, the e-208 and e-2008 battery models are in the lineup. The 3008 GT Hybrid 4 and the 508 Hybrid and 508 SW Hybrid models will be added as plug-in hybrids in March.
Sense of security in the 508 Hybrid
508 Hybrid and 508 SW Hybrid combine gasoline engine and electric motor as well as an 8-speed automatic transmission for efficient front-wheel drive. The 1.6-liter gasoline engine contributes 180 hp, the electric motor an additional 81 kW, resulting in a system output of 225 hp.
This means that 59 purely electric kilometers are possible in E-mode. The 11.8 kWh battery can be recharged at the wallbox in three hours. The CO2 emissions of the models are only 29 and 30 grams per kilometer respectively.
The spaciousness of the 508 remains unchanged despite the additional e-drive. Hardly anything changes in the driving experience either - the maximum torque of 300 Nm ensures a good feeling of safety in the sedan and station wagon.
Grandland X Hybrid4 variant
In the new 3008 Hybrid4, the Peugeot variant of the Opel Grandland X Hybrid4, the hybrid concept of the front axle is combined with an additional electric motor on the rear axle. This also makes the car suitable for light off-road use. Depending on the occupancy of the seats, between 395 and 1355 liters of luggage can be carried.
The 1.6-liter gasoline engine produces 200 hp, the rear-axle electric motor another 83 kW, resulting in a system output of 300 hp. Torque totals 520 Nm. This has a correspondingly dynamic effect on the road.
Fastest series model of the brand
Peugeot states that the hybrid 4 version of the 3008 is the fastest production model ever built in-house. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in 6.5 seconds. The electric range is around 50 kilometers.
While the prices of the 508 models will only be known shortly, the price for the high-performance 3008 GT Hybrid4 crossover SUV is fixed: 59,260 Swiss francs. This shows that bargain prices are hardly possible for manufacturers and importers in the electric age.
