This honorary plaque pays tribute to Swiss personalities who have rendered outstanding services to motorsport or contributed to its reputation and popularity through outstanding achievements.

  • Rahel Frey has been a professional racing driver for many years with various successes that AutoSprintCH reports on regularly. Outstanding are victories in the German Formula 3, in the ADAC GT Masters and a top 10 ranking as an Audi works driver in the DTM.
  • Romain Grosjean with his French nationality and license, made it as far as Formula 1, where he has so far achieved ten podium finishes. However, the Geneva native began his career in motor racing in Formula A Lista Junior, which was sponsored by autobau founder Fredy Lienhard and in which he won the championship title in 2003.
  • Hansmarkus Huberborn in 1936, made a name for himself not so much as a thoroughly good racing driver, but rather as chief instructor, race director and member of the National Sports Commission. In addition, the Centre de Pilotage in Lignières was founded under his leadership in the 1960s.
  • Edi Wyss is one of the most internationally renowned racing mechanics of all. The Zurich native, now 77, once worked for McLaren in Formula 1 and IndyCar, looked after racing drivers such as Jo Siffert, Jo Bonnier, Herbert Müller and others, and designed the Sauber C4. From 1975 on, he built up Edi Wyss Engineering AG, whose responsibility he handed over to his business partner a few years ago and which still keeps him busy today.

Soon also a motorcycle racer
Since 2010, the unveiling of the names was the fourth event within ten years and also the last with the founding jury. In the future, the panel will consist of Rahel Frey, Neel Jani, Jacques Cornu as well as Fredy Alexander Lienhard and Paul Gutjahr as jury president. In the future, Swiss motorcyclists will also be included in the Wall of Fame.

The honorary plaque in the Racing Hall of the Motor Show now includes the names of 67 Swiss racing personalities.
