Alfa Romeo: Giulia & Stelvio in the snow test 🎥
MAL OTHER It is unusual for a brand to present the new model year on snow and ice. Not so Alfa Romeo. At the Snow Training in Samedan, AutoSprintCH drove the current Giulia and the Stelvio. Kimi Räikkönen was on the road in Monte Carlos with the new Giulia and the Stelvio SUV.
On the more than 60,000 square meters of prepared track, the action was mighty. In a special training session, the Italians with all-wheel drive, who fortunately haven't changed externally, wobbled loosely in the slalom, braked hard and accelerated to the pain threshold.
Tips and tricks from the expert
Arturo Merzario, ex-Formula 1 driver and brand ambassador, was on hand to provide tips and tricks. Kimi Räikkönen, who presents the two innovations in the video in Monte Carlo, would certainly have enjoyed it too.
To say it in advance: Even on wintry surfaces, both the sedan and the SUV run like on rails. You feel safe right away and the revised design of the interior is successful. You are on the road with very pleasant cars in every situation.
Design and motorizations
The things for which the Stelvio and Giulia have been praised since the beginning remain unchanged. That is, the design, the engines and the driving characteristics.
The fact that designers, engineers and, last but not least, communications professionals have come up with a lot of ideas to ensure that Alfa Romeo does not lose touch with modern automotive engineering becomes clear when you take a closer look at the
center console fittings busy.
Electronics and infotainment
There was a need for action on a number of technical features. This was seen in electronic driver assistance systems, the ability to drive autonomously, the infotainment system including connected services, and the human machine interface (HMI).
Clear overview with new graphics
A seven-inch TFT screen is now positioned in the center of the instrument cluster in front of the driver as standard. The graphics have been reconfigured to convey information even more clearly and to display data necessary for autonomous driving.
The monitor located in the center console is now standard in all versions of the Stelvio and Giulia in a size of 8.8 inches. The screen can be operated via touchscreen, and the graphics on the information pages have been redesigned as so-called widgets. This means that the graphics can be operated intuitively and also configured individually using drag-and-drop.
The Giulia sedan and the Stelvio SUV have already been available at Swiss dealers since the beginning of 2020. The Giulia is available from CHF 40,900 and the Stelvio from CHF 45,900.
