Porsche: No Panamera has less than 400 hp
When the new Porsche Panamera is launched on the European markets in November, one word will define the character of the four-door model: "More. This was promised by CEO Oliver Blume. The four-seater can make good use of traction, because initially three engine versions will be launched, none of which has less than 400 hp. The top model is the V8 turbo with 550 hp, the V6 gasoline engine has 440 hp, and the diesel will also be a V8 engine that produces 422 hp. The new Panamera also gets more aluminum. The light metal is the central building material of the body, and around 500 million euros have been invested in a new production facility at the Leipzig plant for this purpose and an additional 600 employees have been hired.
A station wagon based on the Panamera is being planned
At Porsche, the measure of sportiness is traditionally expressed in lap times for the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. Seven minutes and 38 seconds is the mark set by the new Panamera. The electrification of the model series will provide for a plug-in hybrid in two performance levels, one of which is clearly positioned for sportiness. There is no word yet on the market launch. Even more mysterious is the version of an estate. "We are working on such a car," Oliver Blume confirmed in a small circle, "but I won't tell you when it's coming."
New rear end brings more downforce to the axle
A distinctive part of the first Panamera rear end has nevertheless made it into the future. The Turbo will again have a folding spoiler that extends at the push of a button. However, its area has grown, generating more downforce for the rear axle. Prices are not yet known, which is why customers are yet to find out how much more they should pay.
