Space Star
The picture shows the new Mitsubishi Space Star and its globally successful predecessors.

Like its predecessors, the new SpaceStar focuses on high fuel efficiency, low CO2 emissions, low operating costs and a spacious interior. The manufacturer has also carefully studied the feedback received from the market for the new edition of the five-door model.

Dynamic Shield takes center stage
The core element of the new Dynamic Shield front is an eye-catching chrome bar that was first presented in 2014 in a concept study. The fact that it has since been introduced for almost all of the brand's vehicle models shows how versatile the design concept is and the importance the Japanese automaker attaches to it.

Better drag coefficient
The rear of the Space Star now features a wider and more angular bumper, which visually widens and lowers the model. The design of the rear L-shaped taillights (LED) further supports this effect. This impression is further reinforced by the long roof spoiler with integrated high-mounted brake light, which also contributes to an excellent drag coefficient.

Carbon look and lots of accessories
Mitsubishi also offers an extensive range of accessories as part of the facelift. These include: Carbon look trim on the lower grille, picking up on the red stripe motif used on the upper front grille, color-matched spoiler on the front and sides (with carbon look and red stripe, and 15-inch black alloy wheels.

Smartphone Display Audio System
Inside, there are now trim parts in carbon look. Soft-touch surfaces are now used in areas that are frequently touched. The higher equipment lines will have a special seat design in the future. Also new is a smartphone display audio system with 7.0-inch display and smartphone connection via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Automatic or manual transmission
The new 3-cylinder gasoline engines of the Space Start produce 71 hp (88 Nm) or 80 hp (106 Nm). They are equipped (depending on the model) with the MIVEC continuous variable valve timing system and automatic start-stop. The units can be combined with a 5-speed transmission or a CVT automatic (only for the 1.2-liter variant).

Market launch for Switzerland, equipment and prices not yet fixed.
