In addition to a redesigned front and rear end, VW has given the up! a new top TSI engine. The turbocharged three-cylinder single-liter engine has an output of 90 hp, with a maximum torque of 160 Nm available between 1500 and 3500 rpm. The range also includes two one-liter three-cylinder engines with multipoint injection and outputs of 60 and 75 hp. With the natural gas engine, the car develops an output of 68 hp. Power is transmitted to the front axle via a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Hardly any engine noise even at high speeds
The first impression of the up! with the top-of-the-range engine was impressive. On the one hand, the engine is not excessively loud inside the car, even at high revs, and you can make good progress even without shifting gears. On the other hand, according to factory specifications, it is also on the right track in terms of fuel consumption at 4.4 liters per 100 kilometers.
