After a rainy Saturday, Japan's autumn weather showed its best side again on race day at the Twin Ring Motegi. With him also the two Swiss Moto2 riders Tom Lüthi and Dominique Aegerter.

Lüthi made up ground on the leader Alex Marquez as second in the race and in the world championship, Aegerter came after seven zeros as fourteenth once again to two world championship points.

Into the midfield under our own steam
After the disaster in qualifying, which only resulted in 28th place on the grid on a drying track, it didn't look like that was going to happen.

Dominique Aegerter: "In the warm-up we managed to improve the bike further. Some changes really paid off and put us on the right track from far back. My race went well from the start. I was able to make up many positions under my own steam and at the finish I was only 15 seconds off the winning time."

For the Rohrbacher, the fourth points win this season was balm on the wounds.

Dominique Aegerter: "After many disappointing races, we finally scored again today. I think it was one of our strongest races this year with the MV Agusta F2. I am very happy with this performance. But we have to finally make the jump to the first five, six rows of the grid. That would make things immensely easier for us on Sunday to keep up with the top guys."

In Motegi, "Domi" sat well in the saddle of his MV Agusta F2. Whether the progress is paying off will be seen in a few days.

Important for all
Above all, this would also be important for the future of Switzerland's second-best Moto2 rider. With his fighting performance, "Domi" has proven that he still deserves a place in the second highest motorcycle class.

Dominique Aegerter: "We have made continuous progress since the last races. In addition, CRC and our engineers keep bringing new parts, thanks to which we can constantly improve our overall package. This is really very satisfying and also nice for me, for the whole team and everyone who is working on this project in the background. Last but not least, also for our sponsors, who support this project so energetically. I hope that I will soon be able to secure my future for next year. It's high time to have everything fixed."

From Japan, the entire motorcycle squad traveled on to Australia, where the 16th race of the season will take place next weekend.
