The Dakar record winner brought together superior all-wheel drive technology with unbeatable power, robustness and a timeless exterior. In Switzerland, the farewell is celebrated with the handover of a Pajero from the last production series to the Emil Frey Classic Car Museum.
High utility and comfort
Launched in 1982, the Pajero is a legend worldwide. Even the first generation offered the contemporary combination of utility and comfort. Details such as the independent front suspension and the headlight cleaning system were anything but a matter of course at the time. The original model philosophy was maintained through 1982, 1991, 1999 and 2017.
Twelve victories in the Dakar Rally
The Pajero became an icon in the off-road sector at what is probably the toughest motorsport rally in the world. A total of twelve victories in the Dakar Rally are to its credit. German rally driver Jutta Kleinschmidt was also the first woman to win the Dakar in a Pajero.
Sales success in Switzerland
In Switzerland, the Pajero is an established name in the offroad segment. It has been sold just under 21,500 times, and more than 2.6 million worldwide. The farewell to the Swiss market is celebrated with the handover of the classic to the Emil Frey Classic Car Museum. Stephan Vögeli, Director Emil Frey Classic Car Museum: "The Mitsubishi Pajero is a household name. Rarely has a vehicle managed to achieve such a level of recognition worldwide and inspire such a large fan base."
