Mazda: Skyactiv-X technology saves 20 percent 🎥

Extra lean gasoline-air mixture
The gasoline-air mixture in the cylinder is extra lean, and the compression ratio of 16.3:1 is extremely high for a gasoline engine. The spark plug does not ignite the mixture; rather, its spark increases compression and cylinder temperature with a spreading fireball until compression ignition is triggered despite three times the air content.

Spontaneous response from throttle commands
The engine sounds like a gasoline engine when you start it up, and it handles driving off moderately. The drive reacts spontaneously to throttle commands and at medium speeds it is also more track-ready than it feels: The car is so comfortable that you read the speed increase on the speedometer rather than feeling it.
Nevertheless, it is significantly more powerful and rev-happy, but at the same time also around 20 percent more economical than the normal Mazda gasoline engine.

All-wheel drive costs 2000 francs extra
Of particular importance for the all-wheel drive country Switzerland is the fact that with the Skyactiv-X there is again an AWD in the Mazda3. The Mazda3 Skyactiv-X is available as a hatchback Ambition from 31 990 francs (AWD plus 2000 francs). The Revolution sedan is available from 39,290 francs.
