Ronnie Bratschi: "I'm coming back" 🎥
UNFALLANALYSIS Ronnie Bratschi has analyzed the horrendous accident (see video) on the Gurnigel. On his Facebook page he comments on it and explains the reason. In the first practice run on Sunday morning on a wet track, the man from Uri set a time of 2'06.82 in his Mitsubishi Evo VIII Egmo, which was only beaten in the first race run in comparable conditions by the eventual winner of the day, Thomas Amweg in his Lola F3000. In the second race run, on a drying track, brand colleague Roger Schnellmann achieved this year's best touring car time at Gurnigel on his way to second place overall in 2'02,05.
Not a driving error, but a technical defect
On his Facebook page, Ronnie Bratschi describes how well he had felt in the car until the accident and that no driver error or excessive speed was the deciding factor. The cause was, almost certainly, a broken control arm on the rear axle. This is also the conclusion of selected people whom Bratschi took into his confidence and asked for their assessment.
Here you can see, with the permission of Ronnie Bratschi, the rollover into the woods taken by Swissracingmedia:
The fact that he was able to emerge unscathed from the badly demolished E1 touring car was not just luck, but also due to his efforts in setting up the 700-plus horsepower four-wheeler. He also talks about this.
What will please the many fans in Switzerland and Europe the most: He will return. This promise is his gift for his 33rd birthday today.
