Nissan: More character for the Juke 🎥

SECOND GENERATION Nissan's first Juke was either well received or not at all appealing. The striking design was rather unusual, a question of personal taste. The successor requires a rethink. The second edition of the Juke is somewhat less polarizing, if only because it is not radically new but picks up on the basic shape of its predecessor. At least there is still a recognizable independence at the front combined with its typical character.

Juke
Despite its more athletic appearance, the dimensions of the current Juke have grown.

Clearly space in all places
The new Juke has significantly increased its dimensions. At 4.21 meters, its length alone is 75 millimeters longer than its predecessor. There is now more space in the Juke than before, which is noticeable in the legroom (plus 58 millimeters) and trunk (422 instead of 354 liters). Even in the back, there's still enough room over your head, and you can travel comfortably in the front.

Boxes in the headrests of the front seats
The redesigned interior offers more style and comfort, as evidenced among other things by the optimized driver's seating position, easy-to-operate controls and practical storage compartments. New soft-touch materials on the dashboard, door trim and footwell underline the overall high-quality impression, to which the sporty seats with covers in Alcantara or leather also contribute.

The Bose Personal Plus sound system offers concert hall-like sound enjoyment: eight powerful speakers - including two UltraNearfield units integrated into the two headrests of the front seats - create a special kind of listening experience.

At first there is only a three-cylinder
The new Juke gets the turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder with 117 hp that is already installed in the Micra. A turbocharger puts the pressure on early on. The maximum torque is 180 Nm. This should make the Juke feel much more agile. One can be curious. When asked what else might be coming, the professionals at Nissan remain silent. But more is certainly possible.

Assistants as desired and needed
The electronics have been upgraded. New features include adaptive cruise control, emergency brake assist that also detects pedestrians and cyclists, and traffic sign recognition. The navigation system now works with traffic data from the Internet, and cell phones can be connected via Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Fits the times.

The Swiss market launch is already scheduled for November. Prices are not yet known.
