The GLB is already the eighth variant from the compact car family introduced with the new A-Class: A-Class, A-Class sedan and A-Class sedan long-wheelbase version, B-Class, CLA Coupé, CLA Shooting Brake and GLA are already on the market.
Trunk volume up to 1755 liters
The GLB is 4.63 meters long and 1.66 meters high. The wheelbase of 2.83 meters is ten centimeters longer than in the B-Class, which improves the space available. The trunk volume of 560 to 1755 liters (five-seater) has qualities of an estate car. The length of the second row of seats can be adjusted as an option, and the backrests can be reclined in several stages as standard. This allows the trunk to be enlarged by up to 179 liters and used in even more ways.
Space for up to seven people
The GLB is the first A-Class derivative to have a third row of seats on request, turning the car into a seven-seater. However, according to Mercedes, there is only room for people up to 1.68 meters tall in the very back. Safety features include extendable head restraints, seat belts with belt tensioners and belt force limiters, a window airbag that also covers the third row, and Isofix and top-tether attachments. This allows up to four child seats to be secured in the rear. Sales release for the GLB is in summer, Swiss market launch in November 2019. Equipment and prices have not yet been determined.
